Cinematic DOOM

To Whom It May Concern,

We call what we do Cinematic DOOM. It is the result of what we absorb, endure, question, and experience—and how those impressions of existence find their way into music.

For us, everything begins with a mental visual—a scene, an atmosphere, or a moment that exists in our imagination before a single note is played. We write a score to accompany that vision, eventually translating it into our minimal lineup of drums, guitar, and vocals. Somehow, these few instruments create an immense wall of sound. In many ways, we approach songwriting as filmmakers approach scoring a scene, only the film exists entirely in our heads.

Lyrically, we often intertwine contemporary events with references to film and television. It’s a natural way for us to make sense of the world around us, drawing parallels between fiction and reality as we explore empathy within our shared human consciousness. We genuinely love cinema, and its stories have become part of our own language for examining the contradictions, vulnerabilities, and complexities of being alive.

Of course, none of this happens in any particular order. Putting it into words requires us to separate things that, in reality, are rarely separate. We don’t set out to follow a process or define a genre. This is simply how we create, shaped by the world we live in and the things we carry with us.

What it becomes for someone else is something we leave open to them entirely.

Sincerely,

KaL ★
