Formed in late 2022 by guitarist/vocalist KaL MichaeL in San Francisco, the OWLiNG was born from a vision: blending slow, doomy groove with cinematic riffs, abstract poetic vocals, and a gritty ’90s edge. After relocating to Hollywood, the band solidified with drummer Art Quanstrom, creating a heavy yet melodic sound that feels huge -balancing raw energy with orchestral intent.

Drawing from the spirit of Black Sabbath and the alt-metal grit of Faith No More, Melvins, Alice in Chains, and Rage Against the Machine, the OWLiNG delivers riff-driven, atmospheric music that is dark, melodic, and emotionally resonant.

High off the release of their debut album ‘You Don’t Bow, You Will Learn’, the OWLiNG maintains an active live presence in Los Angeles while expanding across the West Coast and throughout the U.S., appearing at select destination events and specialty festivals including SXSW. The latest release is an EP titled ‘Intravenous Flow’ which contains originals and a cover of Ozzy Osbourne’s ‘Mama I’m coming home’.
